FYI,

I don't know why nobody understands the FORUMS

I did not post the Reunion information on the FORUMS.
I only posted a link to the 2015 Reunion on the FORUMS
The 2015 Reunion Information is posted on the website
I haven't linked it to another webpage or index page
as yet waiting for an approval.

Please don't get the FORUMS confused with the Website.
1.  The website hold all different information on HTML
pages.  The website can be viewed by the public
except where I have made any pages password locked.
2.  The FORUMS is our discussion board for all member
to make topics or respond to them.  There are boards
on the FORUMS that only members can view and not public.
A.  There is a section only for the Assn. Officers.  That
is where I put a link to the website for the Executive
Committee to view.  
B.  If you are not an Executive Committee Member you can not
see the Executive Committee Board because it is hidden
to public, regular 15th Med Members and Officers who
are not part of the Executive Committee.
3.  Nothing has changed on the Website.  I am utilizing the
FORUMS to communicate privately to the Executive Committee.
Thus, the communication message is a permanent document and
nobody can say I didn't get the info.

You know I have been talking about the FORUMS for years and it
has fallen on deaf ears.  I realized that to open every ones
ears, especial the Executive Committee I must start making good
posts up on the FORUMS that stay as permanent records.

I also want to follow our Constitution and By-Laws as we move
forward as an Association.

Thus, I have read our Job descriptions and Executive Committee
function.

Executive Committee,

The 2015 Reunion is next year in April and there is more
about it on Facebook before it was presented to me the
Webmaster.  I don't use Facebook and I found out that it
was posted on Facebook June 4, 2014.  I didn't receive any
information about it until July 24, 2014.

The information I did receive I posted on the WEBSITE without
a link to it in the website.  Reason being is I didn't get
any direction from our current President Leo Williams.  So, I
posted a link to it on the Executive Committee Board of the
FORUMS.  Well, only 4 of the EC members viewed it and gave
their approval in the FORUMS, email or phone.

Now, because of the delay I haven't put a link to it on the
website.

Here are some facts:

We email it to Murray at
three weeks ago before I posted it on Facebook . As reunion coordinator past
president current vice president charter member and have made every reunion I
don't think Murray needs to wait for Leo's permission to post the reunion info.
Same place as. Last time in Boise Idaho I have done everything I can to get it
post other than flying to murry's and holding a 60 at him. I even sent some
flyers with Corky Walsh. To Peru Indiana also to Norm R Roberge to send in snail
mail.
Also sent to the DAV and Vfw magazine.

Is #4 a lie based on what was retrieved from Facebook on June 4 & 9, 2014.

We have a Constitution & By-Laws in place.  Why are we not following it.

Reunion Chairman, Copied from the CB/Ls.
1.        Reunion Chairman: In order to ensure that the Annual Reunion is properly
planned, a Reunion Chairman shall be appointed by the Association President and
ratified by the Executive Committee.
a.        Optimally, the Reunion Chairman will live nearby the location chosen as the
reunion site.
b.        The Reunion Chairman shall report directly to the Association President and
be responsible for organizing and coordinating the Association Annual Reunion to
include, but not limited to:
1)        Following, maintaining, and updating the Association Annual Reunion
Guidelines.
2)        Staying within the proscribed budget for the Annual Reunion.
3)        Selecting and negotiating with local hotels for the Annual Reunion, to
include arranging for a hospitality suite, a business meeting room, banquet
menu, and banquet facilities at the Annual Reunion.
4)        Coordinating the logistics and signature for the Annual Reunion.
5)        Selecting and negotiating with local vendors for any pre-approved supplies or
equipment for the Annual Reunion.
6)        Finding a qualified Color Guard for the Annual Banquet.
7)        Adhering to the reunion agenda as decided upon by the Association President.
8)        Finding volunteers to man, clean, and safeguard the hospitality suite and to
assist the Reunion Chairman in various activities as required.
9)        Communicating and coordinating with those Association individuals (members,
officers, committee chairmen, ladies auxiliary members, hotel staff, etc.)
involved with making the Annual Reunion a success.
c.        The Reunion Chairman can enlist the assistance and advice of other
Association members as required, but the responsibility for coordinating the
reunion as outlined cannot be delegated.
d.        The Reunion Chairman shall provide periodic reports during the year to the
Executive Committee on progress being made for the upcoming reunion.
e.        At the direction of the Association President, the Reunion Chairman can sign
the hotel contract for the reunion, but only after it has been reviewed and
approved by the Association President and the Association Treasurer.

Well, based on the information above Neither the Reunion Chairman or the
President notified the Executive Committee about the progress of the
2015 Reunion.

NOW, President Leo Williams calls me today to ask me why I haven't posted the
2015 Reunion on the Website.
My Reply was I did and put a link in the FORUMS to the website so the EC
Members could view what I have posted.  Only 4 EC Members did.
The President, Treasurer and the Reunion Chairman DID NOT.  I sent an email to
the EC Members and Mike Smith said in an email why didn't I post it on the
WEBSITE.  I responded to him and said I did.  Mike didn't go up on the FORUMS to
click on the link to the 2015 Reunion Info on the Website.  

I told Leo what has happened and that he didn't respond to any emails even
though I sent them to his Wife. He said he told me that he gave me instructions
to post the 2015 Reunion that Mike sent them to me.  Well, this conversation had
to happen on 5/31/2014 according to my cell phone records.  I never heard him
mention anything about the 2015 Reunion during that 11 minute conversation.  Leo
said get the Reunion up and I will investigate.  

It looks like I will post every email up on the FORUMS so LEO can investigate
and give us a report.

Mike, Jim, Randy, et al:

This is not an issue of whether or not Mike has everything taken care of - I have never doubted
that.

With an entire year to get ready, and to have more than one pair of eyes on things like contracts
and agendas, it was decided that the Reunion Chairman would send the contract to the Treasurer
(the money man) and the President in advance for a look see - sanity check. The President would
then (at his discretion) either sign the contract, or tell the Reunion Chairman to do so on his
behalf. The President is an elected officer of the Association who is indemnified, the Reunion
Chairman is not. We decided this so as to look out for each other or to spot things that might be
overlooked. Again, with a year to go, timing shouldn’t be an issue. Nothing should have to be
rushed or for anyone to use the Obama excuse that Congress could not be notified.

Regarding the agenda, the procedure was similar, but slightly different. Actually, it’s the President
who is responsible for the reunion agenda, he is the President for that year and that reunion, but
this is a collaborative effort with the Reunion Chairman who knows more about local attractions or
potential events, but it is the President is the one who approves the agenda (usually after sharing
that info with the Executive Committee for comments / suggestions. When those tasks are done,
the President passers on the information to the webmaster for publication. If the Reunion
Chairman then wants to use Facebook, emails, or whatever to make sure the word gets out - that’s
cool.

So, it is not Murray’s job to chase down Leo. It is Leo’s responsibility to tell Murray what to publish.
Murray was simply trying to follow a proven procedure. The fault here is certainly not with Mike, or
even Murray, but as far as I can tell, with an MIA President - no communication with the Executive
Committee, no President’s Corner messages, no emails since he assumed office.

Over time, things simply run smoother when there is a plan, but more importantly, when the plan is
followed.

Do not misread my tone - the Executive Committee, or for that matter any interested or concerned
Association member should feel comfortable enough with this brothers to be candid about what is
happening or not happening for the good of the Association.

I know not everyone uses face book and very few use the forums. I know I have been checking
them daily. "What we have is a lack of communication" it seems more of our members will post on
face book rather then the forums. Several of us who post on face book are executive committee
members. This issue should be discussed at the next executive meeting. I sent emails out @ 3-4
weeks ago and only heard back from a few. I will send another email out again to have this issue
put on the agenda regarding the Forums and next reunion.

Michael D Smith has sent the info. to Murray, Murray is waiting for the go ahead to post it from the
President. The info. is usually posted by now. Murray is trying to follow protocol established at the
reunion from Sacramento. I'm sure the contract is good to go, Mike also has done this before at
the same location. If it was up to me I would just post it, but its not my call.

Dave: I have been saying this all along, but will repeat myself. Facebook is great for those who
use it, but the PRIMARY location for all information pertaining to the Association, especially any
upcoming event like the reunion, should be on the 15th Med website FIRST, Facebook SECOND.
Not all our members are on Facebook. In fact the trend today from among my business associates
has been to deactivate because it seems to be crowded with a lot of trivial stuff that fills up mail
boxes. The definition of quality information is clarity, consistency, succinctness, and timeliness. If a
member or prospective member is looking for information in order to attend a reunion, they should
be able to see the latest and most accurate details on the website. The last President's Message
came out last December (!). I have seen nothing since from the current President on news,
happenings, events, etc., or a debrief on the reunion in Orlando.
